Coca Cola’s New GM Hoax: Truvia.

Posted in Sweeteners by stopmonsanto on April 11, 2009

Countless people are now being pulled into Coca Cola’s prime new hoax: the genetically modified sweetener Truvia. Do not let them fool you as Truvia is not the same as Stevia. This is because Stevia is an extract of half a dozen natural steviosides (glycosides), and Truvia is chemically pure Rebaudioside A, derived from genetically modified plants. Long term studies must be taken before we can fully understand what Truvia does to the human body. Consuming this product is being a guinea pig for this GM fraud.

A list of Truvia side effects can be found here.

Truvia gives me gas and…eh…”anal leakage”. It should be avoided at all costs. It’s no better than the GMO beet sugar found in the Throwback drinks.

I experienced exactly the same since I started consuming Truvia: regular Anal leakage, and gas + diarrhea. Couldn’t figure out why, now I know. Now, horror, I hear that Truvia is a genetically modified product which I did not know. I called Truvia to check and they confessed that part of the corn they use is genetically altered: That’s it ! I am done with this product forever.
I hate GMO products, it all about trying to own life with patents on the GMO products created, Monsanto and so on don’t care if it kills us, and no long term studies have been made regarding side effects. Thanks you so much for making available such crucial information on your website !

PureVia is the same as Truvia, except it’s made by PepsiCo and Merisant (the aspartame company).

Rebaudioside A is not genetically modified food. It’s a chemically distinct compound. If the stevia leaves were genetically modified even, it wouldn’t make a difference.

I don’t like Monsanto at all for the record, but be realistic, guys.

[…] do not like her push of Truvia (I talked about this before, how its a GMO version of Stevia). Other than that, all the stuff on hormones, and all her exercises were awesome! I am very […]

Wow. You people completely do not understand what you are talking about. The only way any form of GMO corn could get into Truvia has absolutely nothing to do with the stevia or rebiana extract. The sugar “alcohol” Erythritol is derived from certain plants and can be derived by using corn. Corn is of course the least digestible source. If you’re having gut upset and loose stools from it, you most likely have a candida/yeast problem and the die off is causing those symptoms.

I hate monsanto. why can’t they give us something unaltered? because they can’t patent something that is naturally occuring in nature already and profit without having someone else sign one of their restrictive contracts that allows them to profit from it.
Those people there have no soul. I say we need to close them down somehow and ban their GMO junk from the US. ALl they are doing is contaminating the soils and our bodies with their junk.
